Last post
I really enjoyed this class! It helped me to look more in depth into literature. It was a little hard for me because I have a hard time finding the deeper meaning to things, but it was nice to read other people's posts to see what they had to say. This helped me understand it more. This class was fun!

Mrs. Dalloway
Mrs. Dalloway is about a lady who struggles with letting her true colors show. She is afraid to open up to people and this keeps her from marrying someone that she would have been truely happy with. She is not truely happy with her husband, Robert, and she believes that her daughters tutor is trying to steal her daughter away from her. Mrs. Dalloway is just not secure with herself. She is afraid of what people will think of her and she wants to blend in.

Confusing Novel
I find Mrs. Dalloway to be a very confusing and hard to read novel. Although, the grammer is much easier to understand than Great Expectations, it is harder to remember what you just read because the novel goes through the characters mind and has their thoughts.

"The Dead"
This was an extremely long short story. Gabriel sounds like a gentleman who obeys his wifes orders. He also sounds like the kind of guy that hangs out often with his wifes friends. He was generous to Lily because he gave her money and called it a Christmas present. By the end of the story, he realizes that his relationship with his wife means more to him than he thought. H realizes how much he loved her and that he is sad that she has died.

Poetry
The Love Song has an ironic title because yes it is about love, but it is also sort of depressing because he has a low self esteem. The Waste Land was very difficult to understand and read. It was set up in a way that was hard to understand. Both poems were very interesting and could be read in different ways.

Different thoughts!
Of the two poems we read this week, they both talked about nature but in different ways. The first one talked about nature as being peaceful and how when one is in nature they escape from the world. The other poem talked about nature as dying and as being depressing. Both speakers had totally different outlooks on not just nature but life itself. The first one was optimistic, and the second one was pessimistic.

Money is it worth it?.
Pip was generous with his money, but it did change the way he treated his family. In fact it changed how close he was to them. He also became isolated because he basically did what he wanted. These days money is the root to all evil. In fact people's relationships suffer because of money. Like Kim was saying about people and the lottery, it has torn people apart because they end up spending all of their money and then they end up in debt. So basically if you win the lottery you better be ready for the life that comes with it.
